All members of the Pakistan Food and Nutrition Organization (PFNO) and registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) must adhere to the following core values:
- Customer focus: PFNO members and RDNs must put the needs of their clients first and foremost. They must listen to clients' concerns and tailor their services to meet their individual needs.
- Integrity: PFNO members and RDNs must be honest and trustworthy in their professional dealings. They must always act in the best interests of their clients and uphold the highest ethical standards.
- Innovation: PFNO members and RDNs must be open to new ideas and approaches to nutrition and dietetics. They must be willing to challenge the status quo and find new ways to improve the health and well-being of their clients.
- Social responsibility: PFNO members and RDNs must use their skills and knowledge to improve the health and well-being of individuals, groups, organizations, communities, and populations. They must be committed to making a positive difference in the world.
- Diversity: PFNO members and RDNs must be respectful of individual differences and cultural diversity. They must be able to work effectively with people from all walks of life.
These core values are underpinned by science-based decisions using the best available research and evidence. PFNO members and RDNs must make decisions that are based on sound scientific evidence, not on personal beliefs or opinions. Their goal is to protect the individuals, groups, organizations, communities, and populations with whom they work and interact.
The Organization/BDC Code of Ethics for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession (PDF) is a set of principles and ethical standards that guide the roles and conduct of nutrition and dietetics practitioners. All individuals who are subject to the Code are referred to as "nutrition and dietetics practitioners."
