The Board of Dietetic Certification (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of confidential and proprietary information related to applicants, candidates, certificants, and the examination development, maintenance, and administration process. Confidential materials encompass a range of sensitive data and documentation, including but not limited to:

- Personal applicant/certificant information
- Exam development documentation (including job analysis study reports, technical reports, and cut score studies)
- Examination items and forms
- Individual examination scores
This policy applies to all individuals with authorized access to confidential information, including BDC employees, Board members, committee members, consultants, psychometric consultants, and other relevant personnel.
Data Protection Measures
To ensure the security and integrity of our examinations and related processes, we adhere to the following principles:
- All test materials are strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to any individual or entity, except as required for examination development and administration.
- Information concerning a candidate/certificant will only be disclosed to the respective candidate/certificant, except when written authorization or legal mandates dictate otherwise.
- Personal information provided by applicants/certificants as part of their application or recertification application, including results of background checks, is treated as confidential.
- Application information is shared only with BDC's authorized examination development or administration vendors for certification processing purposes.
- Examination scores are exclusively released to the respective examination candidate as stipulated by applicable laws, unless a written release is provided by the candidate during the application process.
Confidentiality of Board Proceedings
Board members are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of information discussed during Board meetings, unless explicit authorization is granted by BDC. This encompasses both verbal and written information identified as confidential matters.
Certification Verification
Upon request, we provide confirmation of certification status to interested parties. Additionally, primary source verification is accessible in real-time via the Internet. Users must input the BDC registration identification number to access the online verification system.
Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy as required. Changes will be communicated through our official channels. It is recommended to review this policy periodically.
