This policy defines the criteria for evaluation and verification of private clinical practice experience for applicants of the Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
Background
In Pakistan, private clinical setups are often not fully regulated or documented. Therefore, PFNO adopts a controlled and evidence-based approach to ensure credibility while maintaining professional standards.
Definition of Private Clinical Practice
Private clinical practice refers to in-person nutrition services provided at a physical setup, including:
- Personal clinic
- Consultation room / setup
- Practice within a shared healthcare facility
Note: Online or virtual consultations will not be considered under private clinical practice experience.
Eligibility Condition
Only post-qualification experience (after completion of the required degree) will be considered.
Experience gained during academic studies, including internships, will not be counted.
Verification Requirements
Mandatory Requirement
All applicants must submit:
- Self-Declaration
- Clearly stating start date of clinical practice
- Nature and location of practice
- Signed with CNIC copy attached
Supporting Evidence (Any 2–3 Required)
Applicants must provide a combination of the following:
- Clinic photographs (interior/exterior showing setup)
- Sample prescriptions or diet plans (patient identity concealed)
- Patient records / OPD register (if available)
- Clinic location proof (rent agreement or address confirmation)
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Consistency of timeline
- Continuity of clinical practice
- Credibility of submitted evidence
- Alignment between declared and documented information
PFNO reserves the right to request additional documents if required.
Non-Acceptable Cases
The following will not be accepted:
- Claims without supporting evidence
- Sole reliance on social media presence
- Online-only practice
- Inconsistent or unverifiable documentation
- Backdated or suspicious records
Discretion Clause
Due to the lack of standardized regulation:
Private clinical practice experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. PFNO reserves the right to accept or reject such experience based on the credibility and completeness of submitted evidence.
Final Decision
The decision of the Board of Dietetic Certification (BDC), PFNO shall be final and binding.
