The Board of Dietetic Certification (BDC) social media pages exist to share and discuss food and nutrition information, credentialing news and updates for RDN professionals in Pakistan, within the guidelines set out in this policy.
Welcome to Our Community
The Board of Dietetic Certification (BDC) is the credentialing agency of the Pakistan Food and Nutrition Organization (PFNO). BDC and its certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are committed to improving public health by providing scientifically sound, trustworthy nutrition information. Social media is full of misleading advice about what and how to eat. BDC aims to be a reliable source for accurate nutrition information and to promote credentialed RDNs as the experts who can help people apply it in daily life.
While we may share relevant industry news and resources, BDC and PFNO do not promote, endorse or take responsibility for any publications, products or services offered by third parties.
This policy is designed to guide your participation in our online communities and to protect your privacy and reputation, as well as ours. We encourage you to join the conversation. We understand that not everyone will share the same opinions, so we ask all members of the community to treat each other with respect, even when they disagree.
Debates about political ideologies, sectarian matters, foreign policy and external conflicts fall outside the scope of BDC's social media pages. Inappropriate or inflammatory content posted on BDC pages may be removed. BDC does not seek to regulate what individuals say on their own personal profiles and pages.
BDC-certified RDNs and all practitioners are expected to take part in any public discussion with professionalism, respect and civility, in line with the Code of Ethics for RDNs.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
BDC has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. We do not permit harassment of our staff, members, certified RDNs or anyone who engages with our posts through likes, comments, messages or other interactions. We are committed to a respectful and inclusive online community.
Terms of Participation
As you interact with BDC and its members, the following rules apply without exception. Using BDC's social media pages, including our profiles and any forums or groups, means you accept these terms:
- Age requirement. You must be 18 years of age or older to post on a BDC social media page.
- Protect personal health information. To protect everyone's privacy, do not post personal health information of any kind, including images, medical reports, lab results or other health data, on BDC social media pages.
- Prohibited activities. By posting on any BDC social media page, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws and regulations of Pakistan, including copyright, intellectual property and cybercrime laws, regarding any content you send or receive.
- Share content that is unlawful, disruptive, threatening, profane, obscene, defamatory, abusive, intimidating or offensive, or post advertisements, solicitations or spam of any kind. BDC reserves the right to decide what material is appropriate and to remove anything it considers inappropriate.
- Impersonate any person or organization, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization, especially BDC, PFNO or the RDN credential.
- Share material that is not yours to share or that you have no right to make available under any law or contractual or fiduciary relationship.
- Post any material that infringes a patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary right of any party.
- Moderation. BDC may monitor, prohibit, restrict or block access to any of its social media pages, and remove, delete or block any content, at any time and at its discretion, whether or not the content violates this policy.
- Disclosure. BDC may disclose communications or activities when required by lawful requests from government or regulatory authorities, by court or administrative orders, or to protect the rights of BDC and PFNO.
- Content ownership. By posting on a BDC social media page, you give BDC and PFNO the right to reproduce, distribute, edit, display and otherwise use the content you post for the organization's purposes, in any form or media.
- Your own responsibility. Sharing content online carries security, confidentiality and privacy risks. You accept responsibility for these risks, so think carefully about your own privacy and that of your family before you post.
- No endorsements or solicitation. Do not share content that contains product or service endorsements, requests for donations or contributions, solicitations, or political lobbying. BDC pages must not be used to solicit business, clients or healthcare referrals.
Use of the RDN Credential on Social Media
BDC-certified RDNs who use the credential on their own social media profiles and pages should:
- Use the RDN title and credential only as granted by BDC, and only while it is valid and current.
- Share evidence-based nutrition information and avoid exaggerated, misleading or unproven health claims.
- Make clear when they are speaking personally and not on behalf of BDC or PFNO.
- Not present BDC or PFNO as endorsing any product, brand, supplement or service unless this has been officially approved in writing.

Acceptance of This Policy
By taking part in BDC's social media communities you agree to follow this policy. If you do not accept these terms, you will not be able to participate. BDC may update this policy from time to time and without prior notice. The updated policy applies as soon as it is published, so please review this page regularly. Continued use of and posting on our social media pages means you accept any changes.
Where This Policy Applies
This Social Media Policy covers all social media profiles operated by or on behalf of the Board of Dietetic Certification and the Pakistan Food and Nutrition Organization, including:
- PFNO on Facebook
- @pfno_org on Instagram
- PFNO on LinkedIn
- Any other profile, page, group or channel run by BDC or PFNO, or by a BDC committee or team.
Reporting Violations
If you see content on any of the profiles above that violates this policy, or a profile that falsely claims to be BDC or PFNO, please report it through our Contact Us page so we can investigate promptly.
